THINK + PLAY + MAKE

ECOFABRICA develops collective self-building projects, eco-design products and creative remaking networks in order to envision and vibrant place-making and build play-places to articulate interaction design between recycling industry, eco-designers and local communities.

ECOFABRICA is an universal design platform that operates in Europe and Latin America.

ECOFABRICA develops eco-design innovations that have strong social, technological and environmental impacts in communities through life cycle thinking (LCT), service design and collaborative work in the areas of ecology, design and construction.

ECOFABRICA was established in Wales (2011) and now is working globally in innovative design projects in the Atacama Desert (Chile) by testing deployable 3D fog collectors; in South East Europe by developing creative educational programmes in the contested areas of Kosovo through TEMPUS and now the KLABS project (ERASMUS+); in the Adriatic coast by mapping and masterplanning new cycling routes in the Slovene coastline (EU EUROVELO programme); in Pan-American Highway with public art interventions; in Scotland through Stalled Spaces - MOBILELAND project; and now as co-partner of STUDIO POP by offering universal design solutions.

ECOFABRICA is the think-tank interfase created by Dr Cristian Suau and his amazing network of creative eco-designers worldwide. Join us!

VISIONARY APPROACH

01. INNOVATION THROUGH ECO-DESIGN SERVICES
ECOFABRICA offers a systemic design approach. ECOFABRICA and partners provide services in urban, landscape, eco-design, housing, environmental and alternative building technologies consultancy; social community; construction and repair of open public spaces; special social projects/events; leisure and art services; horticultural services; furniture; and environmental services; and educational programmes (reskilling) via webinars, special courses, internships and workshops.

02. INNOVATION THROUGH ECO-DESIGN PRODUCTS
ECOFABRICA also provides design-oriented products in housing (modular, compact, and self-building); objects for living (furniture, lightning, appliances, textiles and fashion, children’s products, transport, leisure, art and other domestic products); objects for working (in-the-office, transport for land, air and water); objects for landscape (portable gardens, furniture, playgrounds, lightning); ephemeral structure (pavilions); and alternative water collection technologies, water storage and sanitation systems.

03. REMAKING>>> REPAIR > REUSE > RECYCLE
Waste is Fuel. Waste is Food. Waste is Power
Waste represents a nutritious value for eco-design. Our built environment can be designed to have a low-impact environmental. ECOFABRICA is an ecological design platform, which focuses on tackling spatial problems in urban and rural contexts through the principles of cero-waste and cero-impact solutions by empowering creative communities, protecting our environment and enhancing collaborative work.

04. SYNERGIES & URBAN CATALYSM
ECOFABRICA facilitates the community-led development of sustainable homes and resilient neighbourhoods. We apply our educational, design and building skills to create better places. It brings people together to build their own spaces: public and domestic habitats. ECOFABRICA helps them to construct liveable and sustainable communities. Our activities foster communities to become creative garden and housing makers by identifying land opportunities; training and knowledge exchange; assisting in the process of feasibility studies, design and development; building supervision, and commissioning contractors; self-construction; digital bricolage and remaking.
